My name is Samantha Jackson and I am the Scouting Liaison for the Eta chapter of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. Alpha Phi Omega is an academic service fraternity devoted to leadership, fellowship, and most of all service. Volunteerism is the focus of our organization and we pride ourselves with our good works in the community. Some of you may know Alpha Phi Omega as the Eagle Scout fraternity due to our history of being founded by and historically made up of Eagle Scouts. Though we no longer require Boy Scout membership in order to join, keeping with our roots in the scouts is very important to us as we seek out service opportunities.
I’d like to inform you about an upcoming Merit Badge University hosted by Alpha Phi Omega at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL. On March 29th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm we are inviting all scouts in the area to come meet with merit badge counselors, join us for a pizza lunch, and learn about our three pillars through games and activities focused around leadership, fellowship and service.
