Schools Out For The Summer!!!!!
Troop 188’s Annual ‘School’s Out Extravagana’ – as coined by the late Mr. Gray, ASM.
Troop 188 scouts have decided that their destination for this long weekend outing will be Springfield!
Give some focus to your Citizenship Merit Badges – and have fun exploring our State Capitol!
Cost:  $110 (approx) – Based on a MINIMUM of 6 youth
Deposit:  $25 per attendee
Below is an initial plan for the outing –
Thurs June 20
4:00pm – Depart CLC for Springfield (Bring Sack Lunch for Supper on Drive Down)
8:00pm – Arrive at Camping Area near Springfield (such as Sang Chris State Park), Check-In, Setup Camp
Fri June 21
Quick Breakfast in Camp
Morning – Lincoln Home National Historic Site (Free) and Illinois State Museum (Adults – $5, Kids under 19 free)
Lunch – Picnic style from food in cooler brought along
Afternoon – Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library ($15 adults, $6 age 15 and under, $12 for students with ID), Illinois State Military Museum (free)
Evening – Supper back in Camp, possibly some Fishing or Swimming
Sat June 22
Quick Breakfast in Camp
Morning – Tour State Capitol (Free) and Old State Capitol (Free)
Lunch – Picnic style from Food in Cooler brought along
Afternoon – Governors Mansion Tour (Free), Tour Lincoln Tomb and War Memorial (Free)
Evening – Supper back in Camp, possibly some Fishing or Swimming
Sun June 23
Quick Breakfast in Camp
Morning – Dana Thomas House Tour (suggested donation – $10 adults, $5 kids), Washington Park Botanical Garden (Free, if time permits)
Lunch – Bring $10 for restaurant
Afternoon – Stop by Camp Butler National Cemetery (Free) on Drive Back
Return 3:30 pm to CLC
